Malaysia Airlines Bans Older Generation 15-Inch MacBook Pro

Malaysia Airlines has posted a statement on their website today announcing their decision to ban older generation of 15-inch MacBook Pro as checked baggage, following Apple’s worldwide battery recall program due to fire safety risk. The affected models were sold primarily between September 2015 and February 2017.

AirAsia and Malindo Air also bans the affected devices as cabin and checked baggage. Customers who have already repaired and replaced the battery must provide official documentation for verification before they can be allowed to bring the device onboard their flights.
